For 8 months, they’ve been arguing over baby names, buying clothes that are way too small to make sense, and pretending they’re ready for parenthood. They’re not. Samira and Daniel are an artist couple based in Toronto whose maternity journey we had the privilege of documenting from the very early months of pregnancy. From the beginning, they approached their maternity session with the perspective of two artists. Their vision for these photographs went beyond traditional maternity portraits and focused more on emotion, atmosphere, light, and storytelling. Throughout the sessions, our intention was to create images that felt intimate, timeless, and artistic.
